Bull and Whistle Bar

Bull and Whistle Bar - The Bull & Whistle Bar is right on Duval Street, on the corner at 224 Duval, and it's hard to miss. It's a large white building with large letters on the side announcing itself. There's also a bull sculpture with mean red eyes, poking out of the side outer wall, facing the side street. The lower floor has open walls the allow the bar's festivities to float out onto the street, and for passersby to easily stop for a moment and watch the karaoke show or whatever is playing that night. The music is loud rowdy. The performers, even the karaoke singers, are seasoned pros who can handle a rowdy crowd. The interior is dark and woodsy with murals on the wall...very Old Key West, thank goodness. The ceilings are high so it doesn't ever really feel cramped in here, unlike lots of other Duval Street bars with lower ceilings. On the wall near the stage there's a strange strength game shaped like two bull horns, which you push inward and get rated depending on how far you push them together. Ratings have names like truck driver or don't even bother.

Upstairs there's another one of the famous Key West bars, then if you go up one more flight it's the Garden of Eden, a rooftop bar where clothing is optional. Sometimes it's pretty empty up there, but sometimes it's not. If you're really drunk and you go to ogle, then you'll get thrown out. The view of the street below is great, and they have pleasant landscaping around the edges of the bar so it's a really pleasant place to hang out (literally) on a hot summer's eve.
