Conch Republic Seafood Company - You can't miss the Conch Republic Seafood Company if you walk along Key West's Historic Seaport district. It's right on the docks at the end of Greene Street and it is very large. The restaurant itself looks like it was once a warehouse and the exterior walls open up for an al fresca dining experience. Diners can look out to the docks and see the historic Liberty Schooner when it is in its slip. Numerous fishing charter boats are docked in front of the restaurant as well.
The best thing about this establishment is convenience. It's located right in the heart of where tourists will be walking, especially if they walk the docks of the Historic Seaport. It's large, too. It looks as if it used to be a ware house. That means lots of tables so less waiting for a place to eat. The bar is 360 full circle and lots of stools. Feel free to dine at the bar and watch the TV there. Ceilings are high- amongst the highest in Key West so it's light and airy in there. That's good on a hot summer's day!
The menu has a pretty good variety of dishes, although those seeking a light meal will be challenged by the hearty fare. Burgers are your best bet at this tourist-oriented restaurant. |
