Green Sea Turtles
If you snorkel or dive in Key West waters, you might get to see a Green Sea Turtle. Most of the turtles you see around here are this type, not Loggerhead turtles. The easiest way to tell the difference is the prefrontal scales, which are between the eyes. In this picture, you can see that [...] -
Spring Break 2010
Spring Break 2010 – Smathers Beach is covered with bodies- from water’s edge to the cop-occupied dunes behind the sand, it’s mass people. So many bikinis- the kids not wearing bikinis or board shorts stick out like awkward guests wearing pajamas to a hip nightclub. Boats pull up providing soundtrack and vibrating pods of bikini [...] -
The Vandenberg, 6 Mos. Later
It’s been just over six months since the USS Vandenberg was sunk. Our artificial reef is coming along nicely- not everything is stark white any more, but covered in growth at this point. Bubbles at Mallory Square Sunset Celebration

Clear Water in the Gulf!
Key West snorkeling is always great, but lately we had some clear water on the Gulf side. We headed out to the back country to check it all out and voila, beautiful coral heads, fish, and nice calm waters. Ahh, July in Key West! -
Freediving the Vandenberg
After all those months of anticipation for the Vandenberg sinking, we finally got to dive it last week. Freediving the Vandenberg is definitely the ultimate wreck experience for freedivers. When the vis is good, you can see the Vandenberg from the boat! That’s because the top decks, satellite dish, and almost all [...]
